Samuel Woodfill Cemetery Memorial

The Jefferson County Veterans Council will place a gray granite (with black granite insert) memorial in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery where Samuel Woodfill as originally interred before being removed to Arlington National Cemetery four years later.

The gray granite stone will be approximately 7' high by 3' wide and 1' thick with World War I engraved at the top of the stone and a Department of the U.S. Army Seal engraved into the lower section of the stone. A 1" thick by 22" wide by 34" tall black granite etched stone will be centered between the words and U.S. Army seal that will have a photo(s) of Samuel Woodfill and words honoring his life and service.

It will be placed in the vicinity of his original burial location and near his current family plot that is easily accessible for viewers to see as they drive or walk along the driveway in the cemetery. 

The memorial will be in place by May 28, 2018 in time for Memorial Day.
